Hello, how are you? :)
I have been here for almost 10 months, so I want to give you some advice for coming Winnipeg!
I think you can buy anything what you want in Winnipeg, but I recommend to bring a computer(for contact to your family or friends, or search something ), Japanese snack (when you get homesick or you don't want to eat sweets), and a basic need like medicine and face lotion. Basically you should not bring too much stuff because when you go back to Japan, that is for sure you will have too many stuff more than you bring to Canada, so then you may have to leave them as garbage in Winnipeg.
I recommend to live both of homestay and dormitory. Because this is really depends on person.
In my case, I have lived for 7 month in homestay, and after that I have been living in residence.
I really liked my homestay, but every weekend I wanted to hung out with my friends, so I couldn't spend time well with my homestay family. And I lived far from University, so it was hard to me to get up early. But they always supported me, and I made a lot of memories with them like my family.
I think almost homestay families have ever had international students, so they also can be a good adviser for you. But I have heard about some cases of not good homestay family, but then you can change your homestay.
After that I moved to live in residence near at University. Actually I like this residence more. I could met Canadians or many friends who can speak English well. They are the same generation as me, so they are like my brothers and sisters to me, so I can hung out and study at University with them until mid night. I really like here and them. Especially, in Winter, it is very cold outside, so you should live near University.
If you want to know something, let me know :)
Don't worry, you are going to like Winnipeg.

United 93
1. This film was released 5 years after the tragedy. Do you believe that this film has been made too soon after the 9/11 attacks? Why/why not?
I don’t believe that this film has been made too soon after the 9/11 attacks. Because this tragedy gave all people a huge shock, and all people who are their family, and know 9.11 felt deep sorrow and they also were broken hearts. So I think people must need time to face this tragedy.
7. Why do the passengers decide to fight back? What do you think you would have done in their situation? Why?

I think that passengers believed that they can live if they do flight back. And they also didn’t want to be killed. Those feelings made them to help each other for flight back. If I had been in this situation, I could not have done anything, because even watching movie, I was scary, so they are so brave.
11. How did seeing United 93 change your opinion of the 9/11 attacks? Why do you think the victims’ families believe it is important for people to see this film?
When 9.11 happened, I was elementary school student, so I hadn’t known clearly about this tragedy before. But I still remember that I was stunned by the news video on that day. If I did not watch this movie in class, I couldn’t have an opportunity to watch this movie. Because I had known that this tragedy was terrible, scary. The story which is in the air plane was shocking than I imagined. When I was watching this movie, I felt like I was one of passenger in the plane. I have been to grand zero, but then I didn’t know about what happened and how the passengers attack terrorists for fight back. So if I went to there after watch this movie, I could feel something different. This movie is very important for remembering this tragedy, and all people who don’t know about 9.11, and do not know well like me.

You Made My Day
Hello, my friends :)
Today I am going to write about an event of the other day.
Last week, I went bowling. Have you ever gone bowling in Winnipeg? Actually, I had never gone there since I came here. I had always thought that the rules and styles of bowling are a common throughout the world. But after I went to there, I realized that it is wrong. There are some differences between Japanese bowling and Canadian bowling such as the size of bowl and the number of times to throw balls. In Japan, the bowls are bigger than winnipeg bowling's bowls, and people can select balls proper weight for themselves.
In Japan,
If kids use bowls,it is hard for them.
And the maximum times to throw bowls are 3 times of the Winnipeg bowling. On the other hand, in Japan, people can throw bowls just only 2 times.I really enjoyed Winnipeg bowling.
And after that, I went to see 'the girl with the dragon tattoo'.
This movie is very long, but I did not feel so long. And Lisbeth, who is the main character, is like manly and cool, but she is also very beautiful.
The movie made me complicated feelings, but it is well worth seeing especially for women..
If you like to go bowling, GIVE IT A TRY!!!!
If you like mystery movies, CHECK IT OUT!!!!
